Go to Thailand...traveling light is possible!

Clothing

You can buy what you need... Very cheap...
In Thailand, it is useless to be burdened with too much clothing. On site you can find everything at unbeatable prices! Beware of counterfeits and imitations of poor quality, at (almost) always very low prices. For these and those of excellent quality, the risk is the French customs!
For women, decent dress is required in temples, museums and mosques.
The wearing of the bra is mandatory in public places, but neither the burka nor the mountain passes are forbidden ...

For the province

- Choose light clothes, canvas pants, useful to protect against mosquitoes, shorts, tee shirts, shirts or cotton dresses ...
- The swimsuit is not essential if you swim dressed like Thai, in shorts and T-shirt (very effective against sunburn).
- For the more cautious, in the evening and for air-conditioned establishments, a shirt a little thicker or a light sweater are enough.
- A scarf, easy to get on site for 100 THB is convenient. It is very pleasant when entering a store or an air-conditioned hotel, to shelter from a blazing sun, to dry on occasion ...
- Shoes that are easily removed are preferable for entering temples and houses. Flip flops, the shoe of choice for Thais is the most convenient. It can be bought anywhere from 70 THB ... Safarine also recommend the clogs or flip-flop sandals put in fashion by Crocs.

Crocs shoes

For the upper and northern districts

The evenings are a little cooler than in the rest of the country
- Provide a fleece that has the advantage of being light, or a lightweight sweater with long sleeves for protection against mosquito bites.
To practice walking in the mountains or in the forest, in a tropical climate, you have to be in good health. It is prudent for those who feel frail, ill or have difficulty moving, to seek advice from the family doctor.

The shoes

It is important to choose shoes adapted to the type of terrain, the feet are fragile.
Thailand is a tropical country and sometimes wet, sweating can be excessive: the feet are then wet and are the preferred place for bacteria and fungi. To avoid these problems, it is necessary and sufficient to wash one's feet every day, between the toes and the soles of the feet. It must then be dried very carefully, especially between the toes because this is where fungal infections lodge.
A good pair of cotton socks avoids many difficulties. An anti-sweat talcum powder and antibacterial used all over the body by Thais can be useful on the feet and inside the socks. Antifungal cream may be advised by the attending physician.
Drugs and medical equipment
Medicines can not be contained in containers of more than 100 ml. The drugs are checked during the security check and subject to the prior approval of the airline and the airport of departure. Medical documents (prescriptions, certificates ...) certifying that these medicines are really essential for health must be provided.
Essential medical equipment is allowed upon presentation of medical evidence.

Children

Baby food in liquid form as well as sterilized water in sufficient quantity for the trip. The security check requires that these foods be tasted.

Duty-free

Liquids purchased at airports or in the cabin and placed in a sealed bag delivered by the airport or the airline (category of products purchased in "duty free") are allowed.
These liquids are now authorized irrespective of their date of purchase and their origin (location of the airport or nationality of the carrier where the purchase is made), provided that the sealed bags in which they were placed at the time of purchase purchase were kept sealed. In addition, the proof of purchase must remain visible inside the bag. It mentions the airport or air carrier where the purchase was made.

Duty free King Power Bangkok

Case of "duty free" liquids held by connecting travelers:

If you are connecting to a French or European Union (EU) airport, including Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, from a country outside the EU, liquids bought in "duty free" at the airports of these third countries or from the airlines of these third countries can now in any case be kept on the second flight from the EU, condition to respect the conditions fixed by the regulations: bag kept sealed and proof of purchase visible inside. They can all the more be preserved if the traveler is in correspondence within the EU from an initial flight departing from the EU. For connections to airports outside the EU, it is necessary to check with the relevant air carriers and governmental authorities about the regulations in force in these countries for the carriage of liquids, including other categories of liquids. authorized in the EU (less than 100 ml for example).

Health - drugs

If you do not speak English or Thai, sometimes it is difficult to ask for a particular product. In the case of special treatment, it is advisable to have sufficient stock for a little more than the expected duration of the trip.
Prescriptions must be included, especially in the presence of sleeping pills, and sales and possession are highly regulated in Thailand.
Thai pharmacies are well stocked. Antalgic, antiseptic, dressings, repellents for mosquitoes, antibiotics, products against intestinal disorders, ear plugs, condoms ... are easily available and cheap. All drugs available in pharmacies are over-the-counter.

Mosquitoes...

Mosquitoes aedes

As a tropical country, Thailand has an ideal climate for mosquitoes that are very common there. it is therefore necessary to adopt some reflexes to protect you from its bites, unpleasant or even painful, and potentially vectors of diseases such as malaria, chikungunya, zika or dengue fever. You can find on the spot effective repellents based on DEET, in the Seven / Eleven for example. You can also buy these products in France.
If you intend to go to risky areas we strongly advise you to provide an individual mosquito net.
